The time is coming for takeoff....

Countdown has started...

Good day to you blog reader, and thanks for taking the time to drop by!  Back in 2011, we made our first joint visit to the Southern Hemisphere when we visited New Zealand to attend the wedding of our good friend and his now wife.  We blogged our way around the country and various other places along the way.  The journey to NZ involved a splash and dash final hop on the plane from Sydney to Auckland.
Fast forward 3 and a bit years and we find ourselves pretty much ready to get on another plane, this time taking the trip to Sydney via Dubai, but with the intention of wandering around oz for a bit.  At the top of this page, there is a link to the planner section that shows where we intend to go.
Everything is ready.  Everything is organised. House and dog sitting duties are organised.  Contingencies are in place.  People are informed.  Carpets have been ripped up.  Ceiling and walls have been painted.  Radiators have been painted.  My back has been knackered in the process.  Carpets have been laid.  Fish tank has been moved back in place.  Furniture is now back as well, and all is well with the world.  Oh, and I got trapped under a bed whilst trying to put it back together again.  Thankfully though, Ali was around at the time to lift it off me so I could role out from under it.
The coming days will be a bit chaotic, but there you go.  Hopefully, the next time you hear from us will be when we are either en-route, or when we get to Sydders.
Until then - thanks for reading!
